School Visit

May 22nd, 2015

Some details about our school visit came today!  From Carl Erik…

You will all be visiting a school from appr. 12.00 to 15.00 called Vardaasen which is one of the schools we send students to for their teaching practice.  You will be met by the headmaster and will be split among 4 classes (one group per class as we talked about).

The pupils are either in grade 6 or 7 (which means that they are 11-12 or 12-13 years old).  They will be participating in two lessons (or classes).  The first one is the English class, and you will be just observing, but with the teaching being in English you will be able to
follow.

The second will be in “Communications”, and you will be expected to:

  • lead the first 10-15 minutes with inforation on who you are, where you come from etc.
  • then sit down separately with a group of 4-5 pupils and talk with them for 10-15 minutes
  • then the group of pupils will take guide them to a short tour of the school to give them an insight into different ways they may be taught.

Afterwards there will be a short summing up of appr. 20 minutes before you will get a presentation by one of the teachers on how an ordinary day at school may be like for Norwegian pupils.
