FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions):

Would (nice) shorts be ok for boys? Could the girls wear tights/pirate shorts?

What about jeans? Or summer dress with bare shoulders/shoulder straps?

DRESS – –
For business casual, this means no shorts (on either boys or girls) and no jeans and no bare shoulders. They should plan on wearing long pants (khakis are ok but not jeans), and a sleeveless summery dress would be ok but not with bare shoulders/straps. For the sessions where they go straight from a corporate visit to a social event (specifically thinking of the Zoo day  – – Thursday 10 June), they may want to bring a little backpack with shorts to change into and they can leave that on the bus.

Will there be internet access?

INTERNET access – –
The Scott Residence Hall has a computer lab where they will have Internet access on the machines there, so they won’t need their laptops. Deepak suggested that maybe just one student bring a laptop for blogging about the trip. But the machines in the lab should be fine for everyone. As residents in the Hall, they will be given a swipe card, which gives them access to their meals, the gym, the computer lab, a gaming room, and security access in and out of the building.

Where will we eat?

SNACKS – –
The Scott Residence Hall is about a 20-minutes walk away from the “main campus” but the food court there is not open in the evenings. The Scott Resdience Hall has vending machines. For evening/after-hours snacks, if they want something more than from a vending machine, they can walk to several things nearby. There is a deli/grocery store called Wohlner’s, http://www.wohlners.com/home-page.html, nearby (about 10 minutes walk) in the area called Aksarben Village, Wohlner’s is open from 7am to 9am Monday through Friday and has lots of nice options for deli sandwiches and other kinds of snacks. Aksarben Village has numerous other small stores, including pizza, cupcake/coffee, other delis, and so on. So there are lots of options. If they get desperate, they can walk in a different direction (also about a 10 minutes walk) and go to a giant Walmart store that is open 8am to 10pm every day.
